ESG STEM Workshop for Software Engineering Students of The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education

On 26 and 27 August 2025, we participated in the ESG STEM indoor spatial technology workshop held in The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) Tsing Yi campus. The event was organized by the VTC Smart City Innovation Centre with the supports from Mapxus Academy and SBBC Environment Technology.

The workshop aimed to introduce software engineering students innovative spatial technologies (Physical AI) infused with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The expert team from Mapxus, in partnership with SBBC, delivered cutting-edge knowledge on spatial mapping, indoor navigation (especially barrier-free navigation for visually impaired and wheelchair users), and real-time data integration, emphasizing ESG concepts in the design and application of these technologies. Through hands-on demonstrations and interactive sessions, the workshop made complex ESG concepts accessible, sparking enthusiasm and inspiring students to incorporate sustainable and socially responsible approaches in their future innovations.
